How to change your registration from minor to adult

The Space Apps website can change from year to year. If a step doesn’t match what you see, email spaceappsathlone@gmail.com and we’ll help.

If you ticked the “Check this box if you are under the age of 18” option when you registered on spaceappschallenge.org and you’re actually 18 or over, fix it before the event. The NASA Space Apps Challenge treats under-18s differently: a parent or legal guardian has to register them and stay with them for the whole event.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to your profile page: click your username at the top right, open the dropdown and choose “Profile”.
  2. Change your email: in Account Information, change your current email to a different address that you own, and save the changes.
  3. Log out: click your profile icon and choose “Sign out”.
  4. Sign up again with your original email: start the sign-up process again with the email address you first registered with. This resets the account tied to that email.
  5. Register again for NASA Space Apps Athlone: make sure the location is Athlone. You can register for Athlone here.
  6. Leave the minor box unticked: don’t select the “Check this box if you are a minor under the age of 18” option this time.

That’s it. Your registration is now an adult one, and you’re all set for HackAthlone on 13 November.
